INGREDIENTS
300ml water 250g pitted dates 1 teaspoon. Bicarbonate soda 75g butter2 eggs beaten1 cup SR flour or 1 cup cake flour + 2 teaspoon. Baking Power ½ cup sugarOil for greasing the dish
Carmel sauce 60g butter ½ sugar brown 200ml cream
METHOD
I a pan add water and dates and bring to a boil. Once boiled turn off the heat and add bicarbonate soda and mix well now and the butter and mix till melted. Once melted add the egg (work fast to prevent the egg from cooking) mix well. Add flour and sugar and mix well pour the batter to a greased dish. And bake in a preheated oven @ 170c for 25 - 30 minutes
Caramel sauce Add all ingredients in a pan on medium heat. Mix till it turns a light brown color.
Serve with the sauce
INFO & TIPS
You can also serve with custard
you can omit the sugar in the cake because the dates it self is sweet
