INGREDIENTS
6-8 Hake fillets¾ cup flour1½ tablespoon fish spice (I used a Moroccan fish spice) - I used lemon/herb and chilli/garlic spice. Season flour well 3-4 tablespoon oil
For the sauce:3 tablespoon butter½ teaspoon crushed green chilli1 teaspoon crushed garlic1 tablespoon lemon juice1 tablespoon mayoPinch of saltPinch of black pepper½ teaspoon dried herbs (mixed herb or parsley
METHOD
FishI like to add garlic and lemon juice to fish and then: 1. Combine the flour and fish spice in a plate.2. Pat hake fillets dry with paper towels. Dredge in the flour mixture.3. Heat oil in a nonstick pan.Shallow fry hake for a few minutes per side (skin side down first) until golden brown on both sides.4. Transfer to a casserole dish.
Sauce1. In a small saucepan combine ingredients 2. Heat all ingredients together for a minute or two until bubbling.3 Remove from heat and drizzle over fish.
Serve with a side of veg/chips and salad.
