INGREDIENTS
2 cups Mealie rice (soak)½ cup pea dhall (lentils) (boil)2 tablespoon oil1 small onion3 dry chillies ( break into 3)½ teaspoon ginger garlic2 pieces cinnamon stick½ teaspoon turmeric2 teaspoon salt
Vagar½ teaspoon jeera½ teaspoon mustard seed
METHOD
Boil pea dhall (lentils) with a little turmeric and salt till dhall (lentils) is softIn a pot add oil and onion - fry till golden brownAdd dry chilliesAdd cinnamon stickGinger garlicTurmeric and saltLet it cook 2 minutesAdd boiled dhall (lentils) and little water Close lid to cook 2 minutesAdd mealie rice and let it cook slowly till cookedBe sure to stir to prevent it from catching at the bottom
VagarIn a small pan add little jeera and mustard seed with little oil, /butter or ghee (Clarified butter)Let it fry till it pops and pour on rice mix

Serve with tin fish chutney or dry fish chutney..YUMMY
