Sweet and Sour Chicken with Soya Garlic Noodles@the_kitchen_girlTried & Tested @hrns_cuisine
For the Sweet and Sour Chicken:400g 1"in boneless chicken cubes ½ cup plain flour¼ cup corn starch½ teaspoon baking powder1 teaspoon onion powder1 teaspoon garlic powder¼ teaspoon salt1 teaspoon black pepper powder
Mix the above with approximately + - 1/4cup plus 2 tablespoons room temperature water.The batter should be thick and coat the chicken evenly.Deep fry on a high heat until lightly golden. Remove and drain.Deep fry again until golden brown, then place into the sauce.Frying twice is important. Do not skip this out.
For the sauce:½ cup tomato sauce3 tablespoons honey or to taste2 tablespoon pineapple juice1 tablespoon vinegar ¼ cup sweet chilli sauce¼ teaspoon zeal / ajinomoto (MSG or zeal)Salt to taste
Heat the above until it just begins to simmer.Add 1 cup mixed robot peppers (cut into large cubes), ½ cup onions ( chopped into large cubes),1 ring tinned pineapple cut into small pieces ( optional I never had it this time)The double fried chicken.Mix well.Serve immediately.
For the Garlic Soya Noodles:Boil 150g Egg noodles until al dente.Heat ¼ cup seasame oil.Add ⅛ cups chopped garlic with fresh chopped red chillies to taste and fry until soft, do not brown.Add the noodles with 3 tablespoon dark soya sauce or more if you like it more brown.Add ¼ cup red hot chilli sauce or to taste, salt to taste and ¼ teaspoon zeal.Mix well.Garnish with spring onions and roasted seasame seeds.
INFO & TIPS
I omitted the pineapple juice and canned ring, and used Mc Cain Hawaiian stir fry instead, I used about1 cup of the frozen veg
