Use White urad dhal (black gram lentil)
With this recipe you add ingredients to your preference
Soak the 250 g Urad white dhal in 2-3 Cups water For +-30 minutes till it swells and then wash and strain the water
In a pot on the stove Add little ghee (Clarified butter)/oil1 sliced onion1 teaspoon whole Jeeru (Cumin)Little mustard seedsBay leaf /curry leaves few Slices of Garlic or Crushed garlic1 teaspoon Green Masala Ginger Garlic2-3 torn Dry Red Chilli1 fresh Green Chilli sliced finelyBraise add the Washedurad dhal (black gram lentil)Add pinch of HingLittle 1 tablespoon Dhana powder Only½ teaspoon tumeric1 teaspoon Kasuri Methi (Fenugreek) (optional)Add salt to taste1 finely Chopped Tomato
Let it cook and add water if necessary to soften When doneAdd little Garam masala Add a bit of lemon juice Adjust Salt and Chilli taste
This Dhal fry is on the dry side
Garnish top with Wagaar BraiseWith ghee (Clarified butter) or butter few slices of onionLittle little slices of Finely chopped fresh Green Chilli or fresh Red Chilli Little while Jeeru (Cumin) again if you prefer
Garnish with chopped Green dhania (coriander) and Shallot
Enjoy with Roti or Naan Roti
