125g butter1 Cup sugar2 eggs1&3/4c flour1 teaspoon baking powder1/2 teaspoon salt1/4c cocoa powder250g dates chopped1 Cup boiling water 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda1 flake chocolate crumbled
METHOD
Soak together dates, bicard and boiling waterCream butter and sugar wellAdd eggs 1 at a timeAdd in dates mixtureAdd in the sifted dry ingredients.Pour mixture into a 23cm square tin and bake at 180 for 35 to 40 minutes
