INGREDIENTS
250g macaroni1 head cauliflower , broken into pieces25g butter2 tablespoon plain flour2 teaspoon English mustard powder450ml milk100g cheddar, grated
METHOD
1. Cook the macaroni following pack instructions, adding the cauliflower for the final 4 minutes.2. Melt the butter in a pan, then stir in the flour andmustard powder and cook for 2 minutes. Gradually add the milk, stirring all the time to get a smooth sauce. Add three- quarters of the cheese. (I always blended some cooked cauliflower and mixed it in the sauce, but this can be optional)3. Drain the macaroni and cauliflower and stir into the cheese sauce. Transfer to an ovenproof dish, then sprinkle over cheese and bake for 20 minutes till golden and bubbling through
INFO & TIPS
I served it without pasta as a broccoli bake and it’s good!
