INGREDIENTS
4 cups akilas rice soaked in salted boiling water 8-10 pieces chicken tablespoon butter tablespoon oil teaspoon whole jeera 3 all spice3 cloves3 cardomon 3 cinnamon sticks 1 star aniseed 2 bay leaves 2 medium size onions 4 garlic tablespoon ginger 2 tablespoon packo 2 tablespoon leaf masala 2 tablespoon 3in1 1 tablespoon borrie 1 and half tablespoon chicken braai (bbq) masala 1 tablespoon salt or according to taste 5 medium potatoes cut in halves Handful chopped danya1 and half tablespoon crush chilies Butter for steaming
METHOD
Soak rice for 1 hour in boiling water and add tablespoon salt Sauté onions with all spices Add masalas once onions are brownedAdd garlic and ginger Add cleaned Chicken and cook for 15 minutes on medium heatAdd potatoes and Rice and cook until rice is softAdd Danya , crush chilies and butter for steaming Once rice is cooked soft turn stove slow for simmeringTurn off stove and leave pot on heated stoved for another 10 minutes Serve with uiwe slaai or cooked beetroot
INFO & TIPS
When adding all spices to oil , let it simmer alone in oil for about 3 mins for jeera seeds to open
