Chicken kalya

1 & Β½ chickens cut & washed
2 teaspoon ginger garlic
1 teaspoon chilli πΆ garlic paste
1 teaspoon fine red chilli powder
Little saffron
2 tablespoons tomato π
paste
1 teaspoon cumin powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
2 tablespoons lemon π juuce
ΒΌ teaspoon tumeric powder
1 teaspoon salt
2 cinnamon sticks
2 cloves
Β½ teaspoon cumin seeds
2 cardamom
2 black peppercorns
2 medium onions finely chopped
3 medium potatoes deep fried
2 tablespoons ghee (Clarified butter)
πΆ Marinate meat with spices, condiments and tomato π
paste.
πΆ Braise onions in ghee (Clarified butter) till golden brown.
πΆ Add marinated meat to this.
πΆ Cook on medium till tender. Add water as necessary.
πΆ Place potatoes over kalya when serving.
πΆ Garnish with dhania (coriander) and green chillies.
Variation: Can be made with mutton.
(In book recipe is mutton and variation chicken.)
