INGREDIENTS
Heat oven at 180°c.
1 ½ cup sugar1 ¾ cup flour¾ cup unsweetened cocoa 2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda1 teaspoon baking powderPinch of salt2 eggs 1 cup buttermilk1 cup luke warm water with a tablespoon of strong black coffee½ cup oil2 teaspoon vanilla essence
Chocolate Ganache 150g Cadbury Milk Chocolate80g Cadbury Milk Chocolate¾ cup Fresh Cream
METHOD
Add the first 6 ingredients in a bowl. Whisk to combine the dry ingredients until combined. Next, add in the rest of the ingredients. With a hand mixer beat on medium speed for approximately 2 minutes.
Pour batter evenly between 2 well coated pans (I used the 20cm round pan).
Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Leave to cool and decorate as desired.
Chocolate Ganache Method 🍫Melt in microwave. Once melted, remove and pour ¾ cup fresh cream, stir until combined. Leave to cool in the fridge until chilled and a bit firm. Remove and beat for approximately 1 minute with a hand mixer until you feel it's thickening slightly. It will resemble icing and will harden slightly on the cake due to the higher chocolate content. Avoid overbeating as the cream tends to separate.
