Boil 1& ¼ cups Chana dhal half way with a pinch of hing slightly it must not be soft Drain and keep aside
In a pot Add 4 tablespoon ghee (Clarified butter) Add tuj (cinnamon stick). Elachi (cardomom) powder ..whole Jeera..little Mustard seeds ..green chilli..curry leaves with 1 Large Grated OnionAs the onions turn Golden brownAdd ¼ kg cut up boneless cubed small mutton Let it braise with1 teaspoon Ginger &Garlic paste3 whole garlic slices Together with the whole spices Add water if necessaryOnce soft addAdd1Tblsp Kashmiri chilli powder+- 1 tablespoon Kashmiri Chilli powder1 teaspoon Dhana Jeera powder½ teaspoon Garam masala 1 teaspoon tumericSalt to taste With 1 Large Grated TomatoBraise well Now add the drained DhalLet it cook well add water if need be it must be a slight wettish and grainy not mushyAdd little drops of Lemon juice if you preferAdjust the Salt and Chilli taste Garnish with Chopped Green dhania (coriander) Enjoy with Roti or Naan rotis Mielie rice and Achaar
