INGREDIENTS
4 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon sugar
2 tablespoon milk powder
1 x 10g satchet instant yeast. 2 eggs
¼ cup melted butter
½ cup buttermilk or yoghurt
¾ cup warm water
Warm water or milk to brush ova
Poppy seeds for sprinkling
METHOD
Sift flour, salt, sugar and milk powder into a large
mixing bowl, stir in yeast
Beat together the eggs, butter, yoghurt and water/
milk
Knead for a few minutes until dough is springy
Place in a deep bowl or lightly greased plastic
packet for an hour
Knead lightly again and divide into 8 portions
Roll into lenghts of 10. - 12 cm
Place on a greased, floured bakin tray leavin 2,5
cm space inbtwn
Leave in a warm place to rise for 20 - 25
minutes
Brush well risen rolls with warm water or milk
Sprinkle poppy seeds: bake for 20 minutes
Remove frm oven, cover with a damp tea towel
for 5 minutes
