INGREDIENTS
1kg Sirloin steak, in large pieces
Marinate in:1 heaped teaspoon garlic powder 1 teaspoon salt1 teaspoon lemon pepper2 heaped teaspoons coarse black pepper, insist on freshly ground 1 tablespoon vinegar6 tablespoons Nandos sauce (Medium or Hot, if you prefer ) 3 tablespoons Worcester sauce ββBraise:1 large dishing spoon butter Drizzle of oil 2 medium onions, sliced2 garlic cloves, whole
1 punnet portabellini mushrooms, whole and rinsedSprinkle of salt
250ml fresh creamGreens, to garnish
METHOD
Marinate the steak in spices and sauces overnight, refrigerated.
Heat up butter and oil then braise onion/garlic until completely softened. Smash garlic cloves with the back of your spoon.
Now increase the heat and add in the mushrooms and salt. Stir fry until browned. Remove everything from pot and set aside.
Sear steak in the same pot on high heat until golden brown all over.Now add your mushrooms/onions back in and a cup of water. Lower heat to lowest and simmer, partly covered until steak is tender.
Pour in your fresh cream and give it a final simmer for 20 minutes. Taste and adjust salt/acid.
Garnish with chopped greens. Serve with chips, garlic rolls and saladπ₯
