INGREDIENTS
10-15g freshly ground coffee- see noteπ55g milk250g boiling water 2-3 Tablespoons salted caramel (recipe in profile)
Equipment:Coffee grinder Coffee plunger/French pressMilk frother
METHOD
>Add ground coffee to plunger. Ensure that all the coffee grounds get wet as you are pouring the boiling water into the plunger. Gentle circular motions are best. Leave to rest for 2 minutes.
>Start heating the milk in the meantime.
Using a tablespoon, gently give the top of the water where all the coffee grounds rose to the surface 2 to 3 stirs. Remove whatever grounds remain on the surface with the tablespoon. Leave to rest for 5 minutes for all the coffee grounds to settle at the bottom of the plunger.
>Froth the heated milk now in a 300ml coffee mug.
>Plunge the coffee ensuring that the plunger does not go all the way to the bottom as this would disturb the grounds that settled already resulting in a lot of residue in your coffee.
>Pour the coffee into a saucepan and heat on medium heat. Add the salted caramel and allow to dissolve.
>Pour the coffee from the saucepan into the milk-frothed coffee mug.
Enjoy an amazing salted caramel latteβπ
INFO & TIPS
>Adjust the quantity of coffee grounds according to personal preference.
You won't get better than freshly ground coffee! The consistency of the grounds are determined by the roast of coffee: Light roast extremely fine and dark roast quite coarse.
>Using a kitchen scale gets you the exact cup of coffee everytime.
Easy and no expensive machinery needed.
