1 Can chickpeas drained washed and dried / soak 1 cup chickpeas overnight for better results . ( using soaked chickpeas make a huge differences rather then the canned)
1 large onion
4 to 5 garlic cloves
handful chopped dhania (coriander)
handful chopped fresh parsley
salt to taste
ground green chili to taste
1 teaspoon dhania (coriander) powder
1 teaspoon jeera powder
2 tablespoon flour ( more if needed)
½ teaspoon baking powder
in a food processor add the chickpeas and grind until the chickpeas are soft and crummy , now add the remaining ingredients excluding the flour and baking powder and process until smooth . do not add water it should be sift . add the flour and baking powder and mix . scoop out small amounts or form balls using your hands ( floyr your hands if you doing this ) and deep fry in hot oil until crispy .
for a healthy alternative .
you can alternately bake these by oiling a baking try although you wont get the crispy other by baking .
I served with pitas , hummus and a Turkish carrot dip
