INGREDIENTS
1 box Phyllo pastry
Filling :1&½ cups chopped Badaam1&½ cups chopped pista (pistachio nuts)1&½ cups chopped Pecans1 teaspoon Cinnamon powder
Syrup:3 cups Sugar 3 cups Water10 cloves1 large cinnamon stick ½ cup Honey
METHOD
Combine all the filling ingredients in a dish.
Place 1 sheet of the pastry on a baking tray.Brush generously with ghee (Clarified butter), layer another sheet over and repeat the step for 3 sheets.Thereafter spread the filling evenly out on the pastry, place the remaining sheets over the filling, brushing each one with ghee (Clarified butter) including the top sheet. Cut into diamonds almost until the bottom.. Bake on 180 degrees for approx 20-30 minutes, until golden in colour
Bring all the syrup ingredients to a boil.Once boiled, remove from heat and leave to cool.Pour the cold syrup over the baked baklava and leave overnight to set.
