INGREDIENTS
2 tablespoon sugar1 teaspoon instant coffee2 tablespoon cocoa powder1 cup full cream milk½ cup fresh cream2 XL eggs1 teaspoon vanilla essence150g dark chocolate (discs/chopped)2 tablespoon butter9-10 slices white bread
METHOD
1. Cut the bread into cubes and place in the oven at a low heat to crisp up. Or like me, forget to had cut it and left overnight covered and it went stiff. 2. Rub some of the butter, all around a baking dish.3. Leave the butter aside for the custard.4. In a deep large saucepan, add in sugar, coffee, cocoa, milk, cream, eggs and essence.5. Whisk well and place on medium heat.6. Bring to a simmer, continually whisking, then simmer for 3min and remove from heat.7. Now add in the butter and dark chocolate and whisk till melted.8. Place bread cubes into dish.9. Pour the chocolate custard all over.10. Place covered with foil into a preheated oven at 180°C. Bake for 30-35min covered.11. Uncover and bake for further 5min. Remove from oven, leave to sit for 2min.12. Dust with icing sugar or serve with vanilla ice-cream.
Note: for the small ramekin, I popped it into the airfryer at at 180°C for 15-20min. #whenruhanacooks #ruhanaebrahimrecipes#mamataughtmewellrecipes
