INGREDIENTS
• 125g butter• 1 cup castor sugar• 4 eggs• 2 teaspoon caramel essence• 1½ cups cake flour• 4 teaspoon baking powder• ½ cup milk
Salted Caramel Icing
• 125g margarine• 2 cups icing sugar• 2 tablespoon caramel treat• ¼ teaspoon caramel essence• Pinch of salt
Salted Caramel Sauce
• 2 tablespoon caramel treat• 3 tablespoon fresh cream• Pinch of salt• 80g plain chocolate, melted Beat together until smooth
METHOD
1. Place all the ingredients into a stand mixer and beat for 4 minutes.
2. Pour into 2 greased 20 cm flat round pans and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 35 minutes.
3. Allow to cool completely. Once cooled sandwich together with salted caramel icing. Cover the top and sides with icing. Slowly drip the sauce over the sides and decorate as desired.
Method - Icing
1. Cream margarine well.
2. Add sifted icing sugar and beat until creamy.
3. Add the rest of the ingredients and beat until combined.
