2 cups (500ml) water 1⁄2 teaspoon (2,5ml) salt 1 cup (250ml) maize meal 1 tablespoon (15ml) butter 1 can of Creamstyle sweetcorn (can use half can) 1 Can of Chakalakha (cook on stove with some spices) Cheese/mozzarella Origanum
Put the water and salt in a pot, Bring to the boil. Reduce the heat once boiled and immediately add in the butter & cream style corn. Add the maize meal & mix while still hot. Adjust with extra water or maize meal to the consistency of your liking. Leave to cook covered on a low heat for about 20 minutes.
Layer pap in a casserole dish. Top with Chakalakha. Add Grated cheese & sprinkle with origanum or chives.
Preheat oven to 160 degrees. Bake for 15 – 20 minutes till cheese melts
