500gm chicken wings (cleaned & divided into flats & drummettes)
- marinate the wings for at least 2 hours in the ingredients below;
½ teaspoon. salt
½ teaspoon. pepper
½ teaspoon. chilli powder
1 tablespoon. tomato sauce
1 tablespoon. oil
Ingredients for Sticky Sauce
4 tablespoon. butter
1 tablespoon. honey/brown sugar
¼ cup tomato sauce
¼ cup water
2-3 tablespoon. chilli sauce
½ teaspoon. cayenne pepper (or chilli powder for extra hot wings)
½ teaspoon. crushed garlic
1 tablespoon. vinegar
salt to taste
Prepare the Sticky Sauce while chicken is baking.
Preheat oven at 180 Degrees
Take a big plastic bag, add half a cup of flour into it. Drop the wings into the bag in 2-3 batches, & shake until the flour coats all the wings perfectly. Remove the wings & place them on a greased oven tray. Brush the wings lightly with oil. Bake for about 20-25 minutes, remove & turn the wings. Put them back in the oven & bake for another 20-25 minutes.
For the Sticky Sauce
Heat the butter, add the garlic & stir fry until fragrant. Add all the other ingredients & simmer until thick & saucy. Adjust to your taste & consistency.
Once the wings are ready, toss them in this sauce & then spread them out on the tray for a few minutes to absorb the flavor & cool slightly.
