RECIPE
DOUGH4 cups flour3 teaspoon sugar1 teaspoon salt2 teaspoon instant yeast 1 tablespoon butter 2 tablespoon oil Equal quantities of milk and water, lukewarm
METHOD:1.Sift flour,salt and salt.2.add in yeast,butter and oil.3.gradually add in the liquid until the dough begins to come together.4.knead lightly until smooth.5.Leave in a well oiled dish, cover with a damp cloth and allow to rise.6.once the dough is risen knock it down, knead lightly again.7.shape pieces of dough into cocktail rolls, place well apart in a greased baking pan.8.keep covered, and allow to rise again.9.after rising, lightly brush with beaten egg, allow to bake for 15 minutes or until done (180degrees).10. Allow to cool after baking.11.when ready to serve , slit the rolls along the top.12.fill with steak or chicken, top with grated cheese and finely diced red and green peppers.
TIP:grate the cheese on the fine side, it looks more attractive.
CHICKEN FILLING:500g chicken fillets cubedGinger garlic paste Aromat (a South African Spice) Lemon pepper4 tablespoon Peri peri sauce 3 tablespoon tomato sauce Crushed green chillies
METHOD:1. Mix all ingredients well.2.place in a sauce pan and allow chicken to cook until done.
Tip: do not dry chicken out while cooking should be a little moist.
STEAK FILLiNG:500g rump steak cubed Aromat (a South African Spice) Lemon pepper 3 tablespoon Worcestershire sauceGinger garlic paste4 tablespoon Tomato sauce 3 tablespoon chow chow
METHOD:1.Place all the ingredients into a saucepan besides the tomato sauce and chow chow.2.allow to cook until steak is tender, but moist. 3.allow steak to cool before adding sauces.
INFO & TIPS
If u want it saucy and not to dry you can add any sauce before putting the grated cheese over.
