¼ cup maizena (corn flour)
1 cup castor sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
¾ cup flour
Pinch of salt
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
For chocolate Swiss roll :
2 heap tablespoon cocoa
2 tablespoon boiling water
250ml whipped fresh cream sweetened with icing sugar
Grated chocolate /flake
-Beat egg white stiff, gradually add castor sugar, egg yolks & vanilla essence. Whisk until thick & creamy.
-mix cocoa & boiling water & add to mixture. Add in sifted dry ingredients.
-grease and line Swiss roll pan with wax paper. Bake at 200°c for 15 minutues.
-turn out immediately on a damp cloth sprinkled with icing sugar.
- remove the paper and trim the crusty edges.
- holding the edges of the damp cloth, roll up the cloth & cake.
- allow it to cool completely, then unroll gently. Spread with filling of choice then roll up again. Decorate as desired.
