INGREDIENTS
½ lb butter (250g)2 cups sugar6 Eggs2 cups milk6 teaspoon baking powder2 teaspoon vanilla essence 3-4 cups flour
Icing:250g butter1 kg icing sugar1 tablespoon milk1 teaspoon vanilla essence 1 teaspoon lemon juice
METHOD
Beat butter and sugar till creamy. Add eggs and beat for three to four minutes. Add dry ingredients, milk and vanilla and beat till well combined. Do not over beat at this stage. Pour into greased baking tins and bake at 180 degrees for approximately 40 to 45 minutes or until skewer comes out clean when poked.
