INGREDIENTS

750ml flour
3 ½ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon sugar
140ml margarine/butter
250ml milk
1 egg, beaten


METHOD

Preheat oven to 220ºC
Combine the dry ingredients with margarine or butter to form crumbs
Pour the milk and mix till a dough forms
Pour dough onto a floured surface and knead to form a soft dough
Roll dough out to a thickness of about 25-30mm, cut with a round cutter
Brush with beaten egg and bake for 10-15 minutes till golden brown

Serve warm and buttered with jams, sweetened whipped cream and/or cheese
