INGREDIENTS
500g steak (cubed small)1 onion (sliced)1 piece taj (cinnamon stick)2 large tomatoes (liquidized)1 tablespoon mustard sauce1 tablespoon tomato sauce3 tablespoon crystal's sauce1 teaspoon salt1 teaspoon red ginger garlic masala1 teaspoon dhana powder1 teaspoon Jeeru (Cumin) powder1 teaspoon chilli powder¼ teaspoon turmeric powder1 teaspoon mustard powder1 tablespoon brown vinegar3 large potatoes2 cups macaroni/penne noodlesGrated gouda cheeseDried Italian herbsOptional-Baby plum tomatoes (halved)Chopped spring onions
METHOD
1. Braise onion in oil with taj until golden.2. Add in spices and masala, braise till fragrant then add in vinegar and steak.3. Mix and cook till no liquid remains, then add in tomatoes. 4. Cook till tomato has reduced and add in sauces.5. Cook till sauces heat through. Leave saucy.6. Make mash with the 3 potatoes with salt, pepper & butter.7. Boil pasta in salted water till al-dente.8. Layer in casserole dish-•Steak• Mash•Boiled pasta •Grated cheese•Dried herbs9. Place in a preheated oven at 180degC, until heated through and cheese has melted.10. Serve whilst cheese is gooey.#mamataughtmewellrecipesNote:I sometimes add in nigella (kulunji) seeda with the tomatoes, and wilted baby spinach in the layering.
