RUHANA EBRAHIM'S RECIPES

INGREDIENTS

Ingredients:
1⁄2 cup yellow lentils (mugni dhar)
2 tablespoon oil
1 onion (sliced)
1 teaspoon green chilli garlic paste
1 teaspoon dhana Jeeru (Cumin) powder
1⁄4 teaspoon turmeric
1⁄4 teaspoon white pepper
1 teaspoon salt
chopped dhania (coriander)
chopped spring onion
Water as needed
2 tablespoon chana flour
1⁄4 cup self raising flour


METHOD

Soak dhar for 3 hours.
Rinse and add all spices and chillies.
Heat oil, braise onion till soft.
Add dhar and a little water and cook till soft. Use water as needed.
When cooked add chopped greens. Mix in.
Allow to cool, then add in flours.
Roll in well greased hands into balls.
Leave in fridge to firm up whilst heating oil.
Medium oil on medium heat, fry till golden.
Serve hot with chutney or a yoghurt dip.
