Homemade Butterscotch Sauce

Ingredients:½ cup butter1 cup dark brown sugar¼ teaspoon rough salt250ml fresh cream½ teaspoon caramel essence
Method:Melt butter, sugar and salt.Once sugar is dissolved, add cream and essence and simmer till thickened, but pouring consistency.
Note: This makes 2 cups sauce.Use on desserts, cakes, ice-cream etc. Half or quarter recipe for smaller serving.
