Rec cred: Hajera Ebrahim (mum)
2 cups cake flour
⅓ cup ordinary sugar
1 medium potato (dry mashed)
1 teaspoon baking powder
Milk (as needed)
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
1. Sift flour. Add sugar, mash and egg.
2. Add milk as needed to make a thick batter.
3. Allow to stand for a while. Add baking powder before frying.
4. Drop spoonfuls into deep hot oil, fry till golden.
5. Dip into syrup after frying.
Note: mum dips the gool goolas in cold syrup, and very lightly sprinkles coconut over.
