INGREDIENTS

1kg muttonReady fried onions or 1 large onion sliced1 half teaspoon salt2 teaspoon ginger garlic1 teaspoon turmeric powder2 teaspoon chillie powder2 teaspoon dhana Jeeru (Cumin)quarter teaspoon pepper1 teaspoon whole Jeeru (Cumin)2 sticks cinnamon2 cloves2 cardamon4 pepper corns1 large tomato, liquidized1 teaspoon tomato paste4 potatoes halvedBiryani spiceSaffron Infusion (few strands saffron mixed in hot water)
METHOD
Put ready made fried onions in a pot or braise onion in oil or ghee (Clarified butter) until golden brown2. add cinnamon, cloves, Jeeru (Cumin), pepper corn and cardamon3. add meat, turmeric, ginger garlic and salt,add saffron winfusion/water 4. Cook for 30-40 minutes until half done.5. Add chill powder, Dhana Jeeru (Cumin), pepper, tomato paste and tomato and biryani spice6. Add 3 cups hot water and potatoes7. cook on medium heat for 15 minutes,add a teaspoon of garam masala,and cinnamon powder before serving
8. Garnish with dhana and green chillies

Use mutton masala or curry paste to add more colour and flavour
