Short bread 250g butter ½ cup sugar3 cups flour
Topping (caramel)1 tin condensed milk 1 cup sugar 250g butter 2 tablespoons golden syrup
Short bread :
Cream together butter and sugar well. Add flour and make a firm dough. Press dough evenly into a greased swiss roll pan. Bake on 180 degrees until light brown. Leave aside and allow to cool.
Topping (caramel) :Mix all ingredients in a thick based pot. Place on stove on low heat until sugar dissolves. Increase heat and keep mixing and do not allow ingredients to brown. Boil for five minutes, remove pot amd allow mixture to cool. Pour cooled mixture over base.
You can top with melted chocolate
