My own version
1 kg crab pieces washed and cleaned2 medium onions grated1 teaspoon Mustard seeds1 teaspoon Jeera seeds2 sprigs curry Leaves1 teaspoon Ginger Garlic2 teaspoon Ground Garlic2 teaspoon Salt
1 teaspoon crushed red chillies3 teaspoon Kashmiri Chilli Powder½ teaspoon turmeric powder2 teaspoon Crushed Dhana2 teaspoon Crushed Jeera1 teaspoon Garum Masala1 teaspoon Raja all in 1 Curry Powder
6 Jam tomatoes liquidised4 tablespoon tomato puree3 Green chillies
2 tablespoon Tamarind soaked in 1 cup water1 tablespoon sugar1 cup water
Braise Jeera, Mustard seeds, curry leaves and onions till lightly brown. Add in ginger garlic and garlic and salt and mix then add in crabs and braise till crab turns pinkish.
Add in all spices and braise for another 5 minutes then add in tomatoes, puree and chillies and mix in nicely till well combined. Now add in the tamarind, water and sugar turn stove to medium low ( on 3) and leave to cook till gravy thickens and oil rises to the top.
Garnish with mint/dhania (coriander)/curry leaves and serve with rice/roti/bread...
