INGREDIENTS
4 cups flour ½ teaspoon salt ½ cup sugar 1 packet instant yeast
2 eggs 65g butter 375ml milk ( start with 280ml first )
Filling :½ cup brown sugar ¾ cup chopped pecans 1 cup chopped dates 3 tablespoon cinnamon powder
METHOD
Dough:Mix together all the dry ingredients Melt the butter Add milk and heat together till warm , whisk in the eggs.Add to flour mixture and mix well until smooth dough forms you can do this in your machine with a dough hook Place in a lightly oiled dish and cover leave to rise until doubled it size knock down and divide into 2 ( this will give you 2 tea rings ) / make just 1 big one .
Filling :Roll out balls into large rectangle Not to thin spread butter evenly then the cinnamon sugar , nuts and dates roll up like a swiss roll place on to a greased tray and pull ends together to form a ring. Make incisions with a scissor at even intervalsLeave to rise for 30 minutes Brush with beaten eggs and bake at @180 degrees for 20 minutes or until golden .brush with apricot jam whilst hot.leave to cool then top with with a simple glaze and sprinkle with nuts
