INGREDIENTS
1 kg chicken4 -5 medium potatoes3-4 medium tomatoes2 medium onions1Tblsp tomato paste (optional)1 teaspoon sugar1 tablespoon chilli powder1 teaspoon turmeric powder1 teaspoon jeera powder1 teaspoon dhania (coriander) powder1 tablespoon ginger & garlic paste1 teaspoon jeera seeds1 green chilli (optional)2 cinnamon stickssalt to taste
METHOD
1. marinate chicken in ground spices, green chilli and ginger&garlic- set aside ready for cooking2. braise onions till pink and add whole spices (jeera seeds and cinnamon sticks) - allow to brown2. once brown add about ¼ cup water and let spices boil for about 2min3. add marinated chicken and cover to cook4. once the chicken is almost cooked drop in potatoes (If your potatoes are NOT soft cooking then add in earlier)5. when potatoes are half cooked add tomato, sugar and tomato paste6. lower heat and simmerready to serve

garnish with dhania
serve with roti /rognee naan / rice
