Recipe by @Allthingsnice_by_S
INGREDIENTS

1 onion sliced
Whole spices, cinnamon stick, cloves, peppercorns, whole jeeru (cumin) & 1 whole dry red chillie
1 teaspoon kashmiri chilli powder1 teaspoon fine dhana1 teaspoon fine jeeru (cumin)½ teaspoon black pepper½ teaspoon tumeric1 teaspoon ginger paste 1 teaspoon garlic paste1 teaspoon red masala½ teaspoon steak & chops spice2 tomotoes liquidised ¼ cup tomato puree2 tablespoon plain yoghurt½ cup frozen mixed veg & some colour peppers (optional)
METHOD
Braise onions in ghee (Clarified butter)/butter with whole spices then add the rest of the spices and braise further. Add steak and cook for approx 15 minutes adding a bit of water. Add, tomatoes, tomato puree & yoghurt. Cook till tomotoes are cooked down nicely. Now add in your mix veg/peppers & cook for another 10 minutes. Add water if it starts drying. It must be nice and saucy. Garnish with some fresh chopped dhania (coriander).
Cube and fry 3 med sized potatoes, spice with salt, chillies & turmeric.
Boil 2 cups rice with 1 teaspoon spice for rice and a little salt. When almost done, strain water and keep aside.
In a large pyrex layer a little rice, then steak mixture, rest of the rice, spiced potatoes.
Make a vagaar with onions (fry like biryani) mustard seed, curry leaves, whole red & green chillies and pour over rice. Drizzle some water cover with foil and steam in oven for 45 minutes.
Enjoy with dhai, paaper and salads.
