Teriyaki Marinade for the steak: (adapted from www.tasteandtell.com)
Teriyaki Marinade for the steak:
1 cup water5 tablespoon treacle brown sugar or any other packed sugar¼ cup soy sauce2 T honey1½ cloves of garlic minced¾ teaspoon ginger powder¼ teaspoon pepper steak spice
Set over medium heat . Then mix 2 tablespoon of maizena (corn flour) with ¼ cup cold water until dissolved & Add to sauce and heat till thick. Marinate steak of choice for an hour+ in this sauce.
I used about 1kg rump sliced thin
Then Add: brown vinegar, 1 tablespoon ginger garlic masala, garlic flakes, crushed garlic, few pieces of freshly grated ginger, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, lemon juice.
Cook steak and above sauce in a generous amount of butter. Add water as needed.Garnish with toasted sesame seeds, cut red chillies and chives.
Serve with roasted baby potatoes and Asian coleslaw.------
Roasted baby potatoes:
Wash 6 baby potatoes and cut into quarters with skin. Place on greased baking tray.Melt generous amount of butter with garlic and a little salt, Aromat (a South African Spice), parsley, dried rosemary (optional), origanum, mixed herbs and paprika. Brush over potatoes and bake on 180° till soft (about 25 minutes or more)
