RECIPE
Steps 123 made easy and fuss free
1.Marinate800g-900g chicken breast fillets, steamed and shredded 1 ½ teaspoon salt2 teaspoon ginger, garlic and red/green chilli paste 1 teaspoon jeera/cumin seeds¼ cup oil½ cup butter ghee (Clarified butter) 1 large onion finely chopped1 freshly squeezed lemon juice or 1 tablespoon lemon juice.1teaspoons turmeric powder1 teaspoon chicken spice or traditional packo masala ( mild)2 Tablespoons chillie powder 1 teaspoon jeera/cumin powder1 teaspoon dhania (coriander) powder2 teaspoon black pepper powder1 teaspoon cinnamon powerder1 ½ teaspoon crushed chillies1 ¾ teaspoon garum masala3 ripe tomotoes peeled and blended.Whole fresh green chilliesFresh chopped dhania (coriander)MethodIn a large deep pot, heat oil and butter ghee (Clarified butter), add whole jeera /cumin seed sizzle followed by finely grated onions fry till lightly brown Add the marinate , blended tomatoes once cooked remove from stove top.Set aside to be completed in process by adding the boiled and and liquidized lentils.
2. Boil1 packet (500g) 4 in 1 soup mix½ teaspoon bicarbonate soda3 Tablespoon salt Pinch turmeric ½ cup pink lentils1 ½ cups oil dhal1 cup crushed wheatStandby Boiling water as requiredWash ,soak overnight. Using a pressure cooker if time constraints boil the above items with salt pinch tumeric and bicarbonate soda for at least 50-55 minutes with boiling water.
3.CookingRemove and blend with stick blended, taking care as it will be hot.Next pour the liquidized contents into the chicken pot add more boiling water to get the required consistency.Boil Haleem further on medium heat giving it a stir at intervals for next 15-20 minutes A watchful eye is required as it scorched fast.A well cooked haleem should be flavourful, present a beautiful colour and appetizing. Garnish with freshly chopped dhania (coriander), Lemon wedges...served with pull apart breads or rolls.Jalapeno Samosas as crispy crunches on side.........Bon Appetite
