INGREDIENTS
50g butter or margarine @cloverwaybetter mooiriver200ml castor sugar (I used 160ml / 2/3rd cup)1 egg250 ml all purpose flour @goldencloudsa30ml cocoa powder15 ml baking powder @royalbakingpowdersa2 ml salt200 ml milk @cloverwaybetter
Syrup :250ml water250 ml brown sugar (I used half standard brown and half muscovado) 30 ml cocoa powder5 ml vanilla essence or a little vanilla extract.
METHOD
Cream butter and sugar.Add egg and beat well.Sift dry ingredients and fold, alternating with milk, to the butter mix.Spoon into a suitable size Pyrex.Don't over fill. It should be flat because it rises a lot..For syrup :Bring all the ingredients together except the vanilla.Heat and stir until the sugar has dissolved and mixture started to boil.Add vanilla..Pour syrup over batter.Bake in a preheated oven at 180C for 30 minutes..Serve hot with vanilla ice cream or @nestlerecipeswithlove dessert cream..P. S you may add a little less sugar to the syrup if you prefer it less sweet. I don't and I love it this way ๐นโค๏ธP.P.S the pic above is a double stack of the pudding ๐๐.
