125g butter¾ cup sugar3 eggs1 teaspoon vanilla essence 1 and ¾ cups flour1 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon bicarb¾ buttermilk 40 ml lemon juice
Cream butter and sugar till light and fluffy. Beat in eggs as well as essence. Sift in dry ingredients.Add in buttermilk and lastly lemon juice. Bake at preheated oven at 180c for 25-30 minutes.
