¾ cup sourmilk1 cup flour4 tablespoons sugar1 ½ teaspoon baking powder1 egg1 tablespoon clarified butter2 teaspoon vanilla
In a bowl mix all the ingredients together The batter should be smooth, thick and spoonable. Place oil on medium heat (the oil should be at least 3 inches deep, as too little will cause the balls to flatten) Once heated, use 2 spoons - one to scoop up the batter, and another spoon or spatula to drop it in the oil- in the shape of a ball. Do not overcrowd the pot. Fry for 2 - 3 minutes until the bottom side is golden brown.Turn the ball over and fry for a few more minutes until the other side is golden brown.I usually place them on napkins right away to soak up some of the excess oil. Roll in cinnamon and sugar or dust with powdered sugar Enjoy ♥️
