½ cup (125g) salted butter250g mushrooms sliced½ cup all-purpose flour2 cups of water1 ½ cups of milk1 cup of frozen peas½ cup of sweetcorn1 cup cubed mixed peppers500g chicken cubed½ teaspoon boorie1 teasoon cayenne pepper1 teaspoon black pepper1 teaspoon mixed herbs1 teaspoon salt1 tablespoon lemon juice2 teaspoons chopped garlic
Begin with Bismillah Ar Rahman Ar Rahim 🏺 Marinate the chicken in lemon juice, garlic, mixed herbs & boorie for 30min. Cook chicken in a small non stick saucepan until water is almost dried out. Set aside. In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium-high heat. Add in mushrooms and cook until mushrooms have soften, about 5 minutes. Add in flour and stir well until there are no more specks of flour left. Pour in water and milk and stir continously bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer until sauce is thickened, about 3 minutes. Add salt & pepper. Stir in peas, mixed peppers and sweetcorn heat through, 2 to 3 minutes. Add Cayenne pepper. Stir in chicken heat through another 3min. End with Alhamdulillah Serve with Rice, Pasta shapes or Spaghetti. 🍽
INFO & TIPS
If sauce is to thick add another half cup of milk.
Sauce will thicken as it cools.
I cube my chicken 1cm by 1cm for faster cooking 🍗
