INGREDIENTS
Green mugh dhall (lentils)TomatoesSour milk (inkomaas)Lemon juice
METHOD
1. Boil 1 cup green mugh dhaal until soft. Drain and set aside.
2. Slice one onion. Braise in ¼ cup oil with 1 teaspoon jeeru (cumin) seeds until golden brown in color.
3. Add 1 teaspoon red ginger garlic masala, 2 chopped up tomatoes ( don't liquidize ), 1 and ½ teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon tumeric, 1 teaspoon dhana powder, ½ teaspoon jeeru (cumin) powder and 1 teaspoon chilli powder, ¼ teaspoon Methi (Fenugreek) masala (optional). Add ¼ cup water and cook till tomatoes turn mushy.
4. Add your boiled mugh dhall (lentils) and ¼ cup water and cook 15 minutes.
5. Then add ½ cup inkomaas (sour milk) and 1 tablespoon lemon juice. Mix to incorporate well. Cook on high heat for 5 minutes until desired consistency. ENJOY with roti, aloo fry and a squeeze of fresh lemon 🍋
