INGREDIENTS
Dough for Naan
- 2Β½ cups flour ( heaped not level )- 1 teaspoon salt- 1 tablespoon sugar- 1 Jumbo Egg ~ beaten well- +- 1 cup warm milk- Β½ purple packet Anchor Instant Yeast- 100g Butter- 1 teaspoon fennel seeds ( Soomph )- 2 teaspoon baking powder
Method :
Rub butter into the dry ingredients & make dough with warm milk and egg & leave to rise for about 1Β½hrsKnock down doughDivide dough into 4 equal partsCling the extra 3 as you're working with the 1st one. Roll each part out thinly Cut out +-15 from each part = 60 rounds ; so it'll be +-30 Steak Naan altogether (counting the lids + bottoms) using a cookie cutter
Steak Filling
750g fillet Steak cubed1 teaspoon salt2 teaspoon ginger garlic1 tablespoon ground green chillies 1 teaspoon red powder chillies 1 teaspoon pepper1 teaspoon lemon pepper 2 tablespoon lemon juice3 big tablespoon ground tomatoesΒΌ cup of water to cook
METHOD
To assemble
- Spread Red Pepper Chutney with a Basting Brush over all the 'bottoms'- Add abt a tablespoon of Steak Filling- Top with finely cubed or finely grated green pepper- Grated cheese - Brush just the edges of the "top" with water and seal
-Freckle like roti on both sides , with a little ghee (Clarified butter) on a Tawa or Flat Top over medium high heat .-Brush both sides with garlic butter once you remove from the Tawa on a cooling rack.
