RECIPE
Β± 600g chicken fillets, cut into 1cm strips2 tablespoon mayonnaise2 tablespoon tomato sauce1 tablespoon oilThe juice of Β½ a lemon1 teaspoon ground jeeru (cumin)1 teaspoon ground dhana1 teaspoon chillie powderΒΌ teaspoon arad (Turmeric)2 tablespoon spice of choice(Aromat (a South African Spice) or mochacho or Mexican)ΒΌ Salt of to taste
For the dressing I made a dhay (sour milk)..1 cup yogurtΒ½ cup sour milk1 or 2 green chilliΒΌ teaspoon saltΒ½ tap jeeru (cumin)A large handful of coriander leavesA large handful of mint leaves
For the saladJulienned the following Lettucered pepper, finely slicedCucumber Pineapple Apple (tossed in lemon juice)The juice of Β½ a lemon (sprinkle over salad)A sprinkle of jeeru (cumin)
1. Chuck the chicken into a pot and add the mayonnaise, tomato puree, oil, lemon juice, jeeru (cumin), dhana, chilli powder, arad (Turmeric), your spice and salt. Mix well and cook for Β±30 minutes on low heat or until cooked through, must be super juicy. Check the seasoning, adjust to your taste buds. 2. To make the dressing, put all the ingredients into a blender and blitz until smooth.4. To serve, top chicken on the layered salad. Drizzle over the dressing and serve immediately.
