INGREDIENTS
2 cups (240 g) all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon (15 g) baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cocoa powder
2 eggs
½ cup (100 g) sugar
2 tablespoons (28 g) unsalted butter, melted
½ cup (120 ml) milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons (30 ml) red food coloring
4 cups (940 ml) vegetable oil or shortening, for frying
METHOD
Sift the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cocoa in a bowl. In a mixer beat eggs and sugar until thick.Combine the melted butter, milk, and vanilla then add it to the egg mixture. add the dry ingrediants to the wet ingrediants with red food coloring. mix for just a minute. allow the dough to rest for 5 minutes. thereafter roll the dough on a floured surface and cut with a donut cutter allow to air dry before frying. make sure the oil is hot before frying the donuts. fry donuts until golden. Glaze with melted milkybar chocolate or any topping that you desire.
