INGREDIENTS
2 & ½ cups milk
4 eggs
6 slices bread
2 tablespoon melted butter
¾ cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon /Elachi (cardomom)
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
Chopped almonds/pecans/cashews
½ cup chopped dates/raisins/ chocolate chips
2 tablespoon Coconut (optional)
METHOD
Preheat oven to 180°c.
Grease an ovenproof dish.
Tear bread into small pieces and place in dish. Drizzle melted butter over.
Beat milk, eggs, sugar, cinnamon/Elachi (cardomom) & vanilla essence.
Pour over bread ensuring all the bread is soaked well in liquid.
Scatter nuts, coconut and dates/ raisens/chocolate chips over.
Bake for 40 to 45 minutes till firm or top springs back when lightly tapped.
Serve hot with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
