INGREDIENTS
Oil
1 onion,finely chopped
4 cinnamon sticks
1 heaped teaspoon of ginger and garlic paste
2 green chillies,slit
1 elachie/cardamon pod
350g lean beef mince
1 ½ teaspoons of salt
6 teaspoons of chilli powder
2 teaspoons of coriander/dhania (coriander) powder
2 teaspoons of cumin/jeera powder
½ teaspoon of tumeric powder
1 ½ tomatoes, peeled and chopped
¼ cup of water
METHOD
Heat oil
Add onion and cinnamon sticks
Once onion is golden ,add elachie and chillies
Add ginger and garlic paste and cook for about 2 minutes
Add mince and salt and cook for a few minutes
Add the following:
6 teaspoons of chilli powder
2 teaspoons of coriander/dhania (coriander) powder
2 teaspoons of cumin/jeera powder
½ teaspoon of tumeric powder
1 ½ tomatoes, peeled and chopped
¼ cup of water
Garnish with coriander/dhania (coriander) once cooked
INFO & TIPS
Add peas or 2 chopped potatoes after powdered/ground spices are added, if preferred.
Great as a toasted sandwich.
