Rice: 2 cups bimri rice(from Gorimas) 1 small onion- finely chopped 2tbs oil 2tbs solid clover ghee (Clarified butter)/butter 2 teaspoon salt +more arad (Turmeric) to colour
Preheat oven to 180 degree and use lowest rack. On the stove, In a large pot, braise onion in ghee (Clarified butter) and oil on medium heat till soft. Add 1lt water and boil. Soak rice for less than 5minutes then wash 5 times. Add rice and very little arad (Turmeric) to boiling water, it should be light yellow. Let it boil for about 5 minutes or till half cooked on medium heat. Cover rice with water. And bring to a boil. Add a lid to the pot. Place in the oven till fluffy and cooked. *You will not strain this rice, so do not use too much of water and do not stir it once cooked. Use a fork to check if there is liquid left,you want a little bit of moisture.
