INGREDIENTS
Ingredients for the chocolates cake:2 cups granulated sugar 1 ¾ cup all purpose flour ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder 1 teaspoon salt1 ½ teaspoon baking powder 1 ½ teaspoon bicarb2 large eggs 1 cup milk or buttermilk ½ cup oil3-4 teaspoon vanilla essence 1 cup boiling water
ingredients for the frosting: ½ cup butter 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 3 cups icing sugar ⅓ cup milk 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
METHOD
1.) preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius and grease 2 20 cm round cake tins 2.) in a large bowl add all the dry ingredient: sugar, flour, cocoa powder, bicarb, baking powder, salt and stir everything. 3.) add in the eggs, milk, oil and vanilla essence and beat on medium speed for 2 minutes. 4.) stir in the boiling water. The batter will be watery. Pour into prepared tins. 5.) bake for 30-40 minutes until cooked ie. a skewer comes out clean when inserted into the center.
Frosting:1.) combine butter and cocoa powder 2.) add in the icing sugar,vanilla and the milk. 3.) beat everything together until it is allWell combined and until spreading consistency icing is formed. 4.) sandwich cooled cakes together with icing and spread the rest over cake liberally!
