
Maize Rice

2 cups maize rice (soaked overnight)4 tablespoons butter1 onion sliced2 tomatoes chopped1 tablespoon whole jeerah 1 tablespoon mustard seeds 4 green chillies 2 dry red chillies 1 teaspoon ginger garlic 1 teaspoon turmeric powder 1 stick cinnamon 1 stem curry leafSalt2 potatoes cut in 4's
METHOD
Lightly braise onions, jeerah, mustard seeds cinnamon stick, ginger garlic and curry leaf in butter.Add in maize rice, tomatoes, turmeric powder, salt, potatoes and chillies.Add 5 cups hot water and cook on medium heat, stirring occasionally till rice is soft.
INFO & TIPS
Serve with plain tomato chutney.
