INGREDIENTS
250g butter3/4c brown sugar1 egg1 cup buttermilk1 teaspoon vanilla2 1/2 Cup flour5 teaspoon baking powder2 Cup bran flakes, pressed into cup1 teaspoon salt
METHOD
Preheat oven to 180
Step 1: Combine butter and sugar in a saucepan on low heat until butter is melted - alow to cool slightly
Step 2: Beat egg, buttermilk and vanilla together
Step 3: Combine the remaining ingredients
Form dough by combining the three steps above
Press into two 20cm x 10cm loaf pans
Bake at 170 for 40mins until well risen
Remove and freeze until firm
Slice thinly then bake at 100 for 1 hour, turning halfway, until crisp
